About Us

After over 30 years in the medical field as a Physician Assistant, and living my life on a treadmill on level 10, I found that chasing the dreams of what the world told me that I needed, or how I needed to look, affected my mental and physical health. I am not what I do, or have, but what the world sees in me, and how I am seen through the eyes of God. Yoga has literally saved my life. Emotionally it has helped me learn how to handle life’s challenges through pause. Physically it has helped me become stronger and more centered. Yoga has strengthened my faith journey, as my spirit becomes more connected to God, I crave to learn more and share it through my teaching. I use my medical knowledge for proper alignment, through adjustment to accommodate physical limitations to avoid injury. I chose the name Chasing Joy for my yoga practice business because joy is more than finding happiness, for happiness is fleeting and intermittent. The journey in life is the most important for we learn and grow through our trials and revelations, and yoga is a journey. Let’s chase the joy together and share it with the world, for us to “be the change that we want to see in the world” (Ghandi), it must begin with us. This is my wish as we practice together: To find the true self that God made us to be, sharing that perfect soul with others, inhaling peace, and exhaling love and joy to the world.
